October Work . .

With the strong influence of joining The San Antonio Texas Wax Group, I have new tools and had so much fun learning to pour the wax.

So many activities . . .

Through the past year - I've had so many opportunities to show my work - i don't have enough ;-) I've sold work from the Inn and even through the Internet to clients all the way in England!
It's been a very exciting time and I'm looking forward to more and more events at the Inn on the Riverwalk, as well as my newest adventure by joining other local wax artists in San Antonio. I'm now part of The San Antonio Wax Artists group - that is a sub-group of a national organization. Through this group, I will have lots more opportunities to show my latest work.
Sending happy thoughts,
J

Austin Art Party...

Anthony, a Patton Attorney who lives in Austin, has had 13 'Art Parties' in the past few years; One every quarter.

Apparently, some of the artists featured at the parties have gone onto bigger and brighter things.....for me - it was a chance to get out there and really explore other people's reactions to my work.

I completed a couple of newer pieces from an adventurous trip to Jerrysartarama.com. With over 100 people in attendance, it was quite an experience and I had lots of enthusiastic thumbs up!

Thanks to Anthony, and my friend Jenna for helping make this happen.

Luminaria was a great success~!!!

Luminaria was a great success ....we had over 5-6 artists in-house working, and demonstrating their work; including a demonstration by Johanna in the afternoon.

We had several interested buyers come visit that day and Johanna sold an older piece of her's to a guest staying at the Inn that weekend.

Jeremiah, the tile artist, will be returning to the Inn on May 2nd for a first friday event - featuring Sonia Semone's abstract work throughout the house.

Competition San Antonio Art League Museum

So I've entered a local art competition - I'm sure my work will be original, and new since I still haven't met another artist working with wax. Who knows - it was a good experience to learn all the requirements of the work.

Wish me luck!

FIRST FRIDAY OPENING at BLUE STAR

So I finally did it! My first official art opening. I'm out there in the public eye - well, other than having my art in some clients, my friends homes, and the Inn. On Feb 1st, I had my wax on canvas paintings displayed at Loft 120, in San Antonio's central art district, Blue Star.

The work recieved rave reviews and everyone loved the idea that it was melted wax.

Thanks to Tony, and my two best friends, Kelly and Jenna for driving all the way from Austin to support me.

An amazing, heartful thanks to my dear husband that must love me - he and my mother in law, Betty surprised me with a 2 dozen bouquet of red and pink roses for the grand opening. He is my biggest fan and support!
